I’ve been slacking off a little with posting up my own work lately. Mostly because I’ve been too busy working my butt off to sit down and write! I started a Graphic Design program at the Nova Scotia Community College two weeks ago and I am having a lot of fun learning!
I was really excited to start this program and so far it feels really good to be back in school. Things haven’t gotten too hectic yet, but I have a feeling they are about to. I just created a to-do list for myself that was a combination of homework, and what needs to get done to prepare Double Dare for the holiday season and beyond plus a freelance project+applying for scholarshops++++…. and well..the list is long. I’ll get through it!
So a few weeks ago I was asked to do some chalkboard art at a local business here called Fred. Unfortunately the weather was so crappy all of last week and my concepts were never used! It’s too bad, but perhaps they will find another life somewhere down the road. I really had fun with the sketches though, which is why I thought I’d post them up!
The event was called The Dough Ball (as you can see from the drawings) which is an annual event here in Halifax. All kinds of amazing pastry vendors show up with their goodies, and basically you buy a ticket to go in and eat as many as you can! I foolishly did not attend, but I will have to check it out next year. I’m sure it was delicious! Sounds like there may be another chalk art drawing in the very near future through and I will keep you posted about that!
In the mean time I’ve been working on some ideas for valentines day greetings! Gotta stay ahead in the card business!
I’ve MOSTLY been busy with school, learning how to become a graphic designer. Below is a project I completed last week working with pattern. It was an excersize to familiarize us with some tools in Illustrator.
Well..I have a LOT of work to get to this evening, plus some fun Friday night stuff so I’m signing off for now.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
