Floral Wedding Day Designs

Hi guys!

Today I thought I would share a little bit of what I’ve been busy working on the past week. I was hired to create designs for wedding menus, programs, place cards and more! It is all for one lovely wedding happening here in Nova Scotia this August! I was very excited to be approached by the bride, who loves florals and happened to see a business card I had designed for a local shop here in Halifax.

I started out with several sketches, and together the bride and I decided on one for the wedding day menus and programs:

It was a lot of fun working on the concepts. Florals are some of my favourite things to draw! Next was working out the menu for the rehearsal dinner. We wanted it to be a little different, but similar. We went with small florals in the same colour palette.

I am currently working the designs into illustrator so that I have more control over editing. In Illustrator I can easily and quickly edit colour, shapes, sizes, composition as needed.

So far my design for the menu looks like what you see above! I’m still chipping away at some things, and of course the text has yet to be inserted but I’m getting close.

That’s it for now! Me and Potato (my cat)  have lots of work to do today! Well..she’ll nap and I’ll work.
