HI!
I thought I’d take a peek and see what what of my favourite illustrators Jon Klassen is up to. I’ve featured Jon’s work before, but it’s been a while since I’ve looked at his work. I really admire his style his awesome imagination.
Jon Klassen is a Canadian born illustrator and writer. He grew up in Niagara Falls, and studied animation at Sheridan College in Toronto Ontario. After graduation he moved to L.A and worked on various animated feature films.
I love the simple beauty of his work, and I also really appreciate the texture that he incorporates into his illustrations.
One of my favourite Klassen books which I don’t yet own is titled “I Want My Hat Back”
It’s a really beautifully illustrated book about a big silly bear who looses his hat, and asks each animal that crosses his path if they have seen it!
The above designs are for imaginary books that Klassen created covers for. I love the colour combinations and the textures in his work, they very rich and full of life. Β His style to me feels like collage, it’s so visually appealing.

Wow! His illustrations are marvellous. I absolutely love them. The use of shape, texture and negative space is fabulous.
