Hey!
For the past while I’ve been chipping away at a new logo project for my friend’s hydrotherapy business here in Halifax. I’ve been so fortunate to have been asked to work on logo’s for a few new businesses in the city recently. These projects make me feel like I’m a part of what’s going on visually in the streets of Halifax. I am honored!
I’ve been insanely busy the last while, but I managed to set aside a few hours most mornings to work on this wonderful logo project for Halifax Hydrotherapy. As always, it starts with a sketch, or two, or three…
I scanned in the image that I liked best, in this case it was white owl with blue outlines, and began my work on illustrator. Several versions were made, as always, before the logo was complete!
Mostly just playing with type, moving the owl around, and seeing what fit best. Eventually with some guidance from a good design pal of mine (graphic designer Ryan Hutchinson— pssst click on his name to check out his killer design skillz!) I decided to make the type the same colour as the owl to unify and balance the logo.
And I decided, instead of having the owl sitting to the left of the H I would incorporate him into the logo by having him sit on top of Hydrotherapy. By request of my client, we changed the turquoise blue to a more subtle cool blue. We thought it gave the logo more of a fresh, relaxing feel.
Voila! A new logo is born! Can wait to see this logo in action in my neighborhood!!
Great logo. The owl is fantastic. It was fascinating following your creative thought process.
Awesome! So glad you enjoyed. š
The logo looks great! It’s so fresh & modern. I love seeing your design process too. Very interesting.
Loved seeing the process unfold! Great job!
