Hi!
I’m back!!
Phewf. What a whirlwind week it’s been! I was away in Chester Nova Scotia celebrating my sister’s wedding, we had a lovely time and a nice break! It was really hard coming back to the city and getting right back to work. I’ve eased into my work life though with it being Labour Day weekend and all. I didn’t have to go in for a full week right away which has been nice. I have so much art to share with you this week, but I’ll save that for Wednesday!
Today’s featured artist is master illustrator JC Leyendecker. I am so excited about this one, as I literally just came across one of his images the other day called Butterfly Couple. What a dreamy work of art…I just can’t get enough! Check it out:
So dreamy…According to Wikipedia Leyendecker (1874-1951) was one of the per-eminent American Illustrators of the early 20th century. He was extremely prolific, and created over 400 magazine covers between the years 1896 and 1950. His work was featured on the Saturday Evening Post for this he created 322 covers. Here are more examples of his brilliant work.
So beautiful and enchanting! I can’t get over how brilliantly he paints people, and with such a unique style.
Come back on Wednesday to see what I’ve been up to these days in the studio!
beautiful stuff!
