Hi!
Sorry for not posting a featured artist this week!!!
I was away until Monday around dinner time traviling from PEI back to Halifax from a big family wedding! Did anyone else whose reading experience the hottest weekend of life? I came home to many of my lovely little flowers all fried up from the sun. Poor things.
Anyhow things are still slow in the drawing and doodling department. This morning I’m writing, which is something I’m not a huge fan of, but once I get to it I know I’ll be OK! It’s the starting that scares me! The blank page anxieties! Ack!! Anyways, I am trying to get a few more small works done for an upcoming show so I’m doodling out some ideas in my sketchbook to go with the boats. Here are some tiny mermaid sketches that I worked on last night just before I left to see an awesome FREE performance at the jazz fest.
Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of the Triplets of Belleville (an old fav!) and the jazz fest put on a special concert! The screening of the film was accompanied by a live musical performance of the original score of the film! So neat. If you haven’t seen this brilliantly animated and Canadian film you gotta check it out! It’s a real work of art!
On with the doodles!
PS-Guess what guys?? This blog has made it to over 5,000 followers now! WHAAT!? I cant’ believe my eyeballs! Thanks everyone for reading and for all of your kind words!

5000 followers! Congratulations, that’s quite amazing!
The Triplets of Belleville is also a favorite of mine. I quite agree , it’s a must-see movie! What a gem!
Just a small correction though, I think it’s a French movie, not Canadian (sorry!) or at least the director, Sylvain Chomet, is from France. But you’re right, there is a Canadian component in this, I believe Telefilm Canada was involved in part of the production along with a couple of other countries.
Thanks for your post!
Your mode of telling everything in this paragraph is truly nice, every one can easily be aware of it,
Thanks a lot.
