New Perspectives

I’ve been waiting for this Wednesday for a loooong time. It feels so great to be able to sit at my desk and get to work. I don’t think I’ve touched a paintbrush in over three weeks!

I am a firm believer that a little break can do a body good though! This morning I sat down and lost myself completely in this little melding city scape. I had so much fun experimenting with translucent buildings, and textures and colours. I feel like a new person after hanging out, and teaching art with kids last week. They really taught me the importance of experimentation and play. I got totally hooked on drawing tiny buildings in my notebooks after trying to re-teach myself perspective drawing.
I’d love to do another little city like this one experimenting more with translucency, and ghost buildings…maybe more details, maybe with paints instead of watercolour. I did manage to grab a nice wooden canvas board thing from the art store a couple of days ago that I am dying to get started on…I just have to decide what I’ll paint on it first! I’m workin’ on it!

time for some reading, and sushi making. Happy Wednesday to YOU!

  1. Can’t wait to see where this goes! I’ve really enjoyed all of the little invented landscapes you’ve created! Follow this streak through!
