New Perspectives


I’ve been waiting for this Wednesday for a loooong time. It feels so great to be able to sit at my desk and get to work. I don’t think I’ve touched a paintbrush in over three weeks!

I am a firm believer that a little break can do a body good though! This morning I sat down and lost myself completely in this little melding city scape. I had so much fun experimenting with translucent buildings, and textures and colours. I feel like a new person after hanging out, and teaching art with kids last week. They really taught me the importance of experimentation and play. I got totally hooked on drawing tiny buildings in my notebooks after trying to re-teach myself perspective drawing.
I’d love to do another little city like this one experimenting more with translucency, and ghost buildings…maybe more details, maybe with paints instead of watercolour. I did manage to grab a nice wooden canvas board thing from the art store a couple of days ago that I am dying to get started on…I just have to decide what I’ll paint on it first! I’m workin’ on it!
