I’ll spend my last dollar on a flower

So yesterday night I went to take in a movie called Tree Of Life. I didn’t really have any idea what I was in for, and after seeing the film I am so glad I went. To me it was a life changing experience. I can’t really explain in detail what it is about here because it has about a million different layers that all come together to make a beautiful piece of artwork that represents life and death and everything in between. It’s really about all of the moments and all of the small things that come together to make up a lifetime. It’s a reminder that we are all connected to each other, and to the earth.

The film was gorgeous and it really got me thinking. However when it was over, all I heard was a slew of negative responses. One woman actually said “I can’t believe I paid ten dollars for that, it’s worse than watching a national geographic!!”. My heart SUNK! I went home ranting and raving.

It’s so rare that a film really lights a fire inside of me. After hearing all of the terrible reviews by the movie-goers, I was completely reminded of my purpose in life. I remembered that I have the ability to see beauty all around me, and that I am supposed to be using my eyes and my heart to share with others how beautiful life can be if you just take a good look around you. Keep your eyes peeled at all times, and you won’t be disappointed. I feel re-charged! Has anyone else seen the film?

So I spent my entire day painting. I took it easy on myself and just had fun painting. I am still not pleased with my little raccoon, but he’s getting there!

I spent my last dollars on some hen+chicks. I had to! It’s all I could think about this morning when I woke up…

Some pics from the Multicultural Festival. We had amazing food. I also bought some adorable nesting dolls from a lovely Ukrainian woman.

I hope your weekend was awesome! Stay tuned, because tomorrow’s featured artist is pretttty amazing.

  1. This is why your so awesome, your a thinker 🙂 I can’t wait to see that movie, have heard nothing but rave reviews!

  2. As long as the film spoke to you, that’s all that matters! I’m intrigued now and I think I might check it out. (Is this the film starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn?)
