I’ve been curious about digital media, so today I borrowed a drawing tablet, and used Sketchbook Pro to make a few drawings.
It was alot trickier than I thought!! I guess like anything it takes practice, but it felt strange to be drawing on a plastic and seeing it appear on the computer screen.
Here are a few samples of the randomness that I made today…
I tried to draw Shawn…
I feel like once you get the hang of it, you can be really good at it! I find it kind of draining to sit in front of my computer for long periods of time, also I love to touch things, and be able to work with things that are physically in front of me.
It was fun messing around, and I think this is definately something I will play with in the future. I don’t know that I will ever really go digital though. It’s the same way I feel about Kindles. I’d rather hold a book, and put it on my shelf when I’m finished. I don’t even own a cell phone! I guess I’m just not a digital kind of girl!
I didn’t feel any kind of connection in the end either. Usually when I am working on something I can get really into it, and really attached to it. Sometimes I get really excited, or even emotional! I didn’t get the same feeling that I get out of physically producing a work of art.
Flowers anyone?
I hope everyone is having a lovely Friday!
I agree, mostly, I hate kindles, cellphones, etc.
Nothing beats a real book, or a real heart-to-heart chat with a friend.
I love my laptop, but I am not distraught without it, thats for sure.
Also, thats a great Shawn!
The drawing of Shawn is hilarious.
