Happy middle-of-the-week!
Hope your day went swell. I had today off, and I spent from 9-4 sitting at my art desk at work. It was a really good day! It wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be either. Usually I get so antsy working away for so long, but today I was able to focus all of my energy on my work.
So things started off rocky….and just for the hell of it I’ll show you my flop of the day.
I’m not into this at all, but I thought I’d post it anyways to show that you have to work through, because eventually what started as a crumby little watercolour can end up bringing you better ideas or solutions for the next project.
So I decided to take a step back and make something totally silly. This is actually an idea that Shawn came up with, and since he can’t draw, I did it for him! It’s pretty wacky, but I feel like it is alot easier for me to make art that is silly because that is just the kind of person I am. I love sillyness in art!

Next step…I took a look at the sketches I’ve been doing over the last few nights.

I am really into lines, lines, lines these days. So from these sketches I made a few watercolours.

I’m starting to realize that when you are making art, you have to be able to dig really deep and be true to who you are. That’s where the best stuff is born! That is also what makes making art so hard too! So my day was very productive, I hope yours was too.

Happy Wednesday!

  1. And some days it’s just putting one foot in front of the other until the next idea or inspiration hits. I really like the fun and whimsy in your art. Very attractive and enjoyable.
